(fol. 39) a letter, beg. missing, written from Pumbadita to a person of importance in Spain, by a grandson of R. Ṭobh, son of R. Ẓemaḥ b. Palṭoi.

He says that the Spanish Jews formerly addressed questions to the Geonim, which he still possesses, but that they do so no longer. He ends by asking for a present of money.

Dated Nisan ר̇ס̇ד̇ = 1264 Sel.? = 953 A.D.;

b.

(fol. 44b) a letter written by Samuel b. Ḥofni to the congregation at Fez to console them for the persecution which they were suffering (from the Caliph Ḥakim ?); end missing.
