MS. Heb. e. 106
Contents
הלכות מאכלות אסורות 1,12 (עליו ומכסין את דמו) to the end of pereq 10 (fol. 25), followed (fol. 26) by ה' שחיטה 1,1 to 3,18 incomplete, and 3,25 (end) to 14,12 incomplete.
On the margins and sometimes between the lines, are numerous notes containing corrections, additions and explanations in Arabic of Hebrew words. The Midrash on Job is quoted (fol. 5). There are a few superlinear points.
On fol. 25, top margin להדא אלכתב מן חין נכתיב עד היום [את]נין ותסעין סנה מן סנת אֿתֿתֿקֿמֿזֿ לשטרות וכאן אליום פי סנת בֿלֿטֿ לשטרות. תֿםֿ - i.e. this note was written in 2039 Sel. = 1728 A.D. and the MS. in 1947 Sel. = 1636 A.D.
At the end of the ה' מאכ' אס' the scribe says נשארו שבעה פרקים מן מאכלות אסורות ואנחנו נשלים אותן בשמחה ובשלמות ... but apparently he did not write them.
On the lower margin (torn)
Possibly the same of the scribe was among the missing words, and יהודה was his father, as נ"ע is written about the name, but this may have been added by a later owner.
On fol. 25b is a formula for the beginning of a letter or document.
The volume is by various hands:
(a) fols. 1-25, 29, 30-33,
(b) fols. 26-28, 35-56,
(c) fol. 34,
(d) fols. 57-63.
All the leaves are torn at the lower fore-corner. Fol. 29 is a fragment roughly mended. After fol. 35 is a lacuna of 1 leaf. Fols. 26-35 הל' שחיטה 1,1 to 3,18.
Fols. 36-63, הל' שחיטה the last line of chapter 3 to 14,12. The numeration of the sections, which are mostly added later, differs from that of the edition (Amst. 1702)
There are many additions and notes in the margins by a later hand, or hands.
